Introduction to Contemporary
This course is an introduction to contemporary dance designed for those who have not danced before and would like to give it a try. You will learn the basic principles of modern and contemporary dance techniques as well and strength, coordination and basic dance anatomy. The class will finish in an energetic, flowing routine. Please bring a free style, comfortable dance outfit. No dance shoes required.
Contemporary Fundamentals · Beginners Contemporary Dance Class
This class is a great starting point for complete beginners. It allows beginners to experience the sheer joy of dance in a relaxed environment. We will build skills, technique, coordination and strength while deepening anatomical knowledge. The focus of the class is grounding and expanding dance knowledge in a fun and relaxed way. The class will consist of short sequences and exercises that help with moving in and out of the floor shifting weight, turns, jumps, rolling and falling. No prior dance experience is needed.
We will find ease and fun in dancing and exploring new movement. Please bring a free style, comfortable dance outfit. No dance shoes required. This class is suitable for anyone new to dance.

Is open for new movers and people with prior dance experience. The focus of the class is combining basic contemporary and modern dance techniques to enable the student to move through the space. We will begin with a floor sequence and progress to an energetic, flowing routines using basic coordination that involve work with weight and gravity, balance and off balance, direction change jumping falling and rolling. Please come in comfortable dance wear with bare feet or socks.
