Introduction to Modern and Contemporary Dance in English

This workshop is an introduction to contemporary dance designed for those who have not danced before and would like to give it a try. You will learn the basic principles of modern and contemporary dance techniques as well and strength, coordination and basic dance anatomy. The workshop will progress into learning energetic, flowing combinations of floor work and traveling movements such as turns and jumps. Please bring a freestyle dance outfit and a water bottle. No shoes required.

This workshop meets three Sundays in a row for 2 hours each day. This class is open to all backgrounds, body types and experience levels. Our workshops and classes are taught exclusively in English by native-English speaking performing artists. 

COVID-19 REGULATIONS
It is important that you respect our Covid-19 regulations. Please come dressed for class. Changing rooms are not available. Please use the hand sanitizer provided upon entering. We must keep a 1,5 m distance in the studio at all times. This is marked with tape on the barres and floor. Please bring a water bottle. Please wear a mask upon entering, though you do not have to wear a mask during class.

REGISTRATION

It should be understood that the workshop requires a minimum number of participants. If the registration list does not meet the minimum number of participants required, the workshop will not happen and your payment will be refunded.

WANDA CADDICK

Wanda grew up Birmingham England where she studies Ballet, Tap, Gymnastic and Jazz at her local dance school before going on to study performing art at Stratford Upon Avon college. In 2008 she graduated from Laban conservatoire of dance and music with a BA (hons) in Dance theatre. After graduating she went on to working with Contemporary and physical theatre companies. She has over 10 years of teaching and performing experience and is currently studying dance and movement therapy in Berlin.
