Dancing, Improvising

  • THE CENTER Studio 2 6 Mülhauser Straße Berlin, 10405 Germany (map)

In this workshop, we will embrace dance as an expression, a social activity and a collective process. We will begin the sessions by connecting with and engaging our skeletal, muscular and neural systems in our bodies through a slow, gentle warm-up involving imagery and touch. By physically exploring our individual anatomies, the class will progress to dancing through guided improvisations that work to activate our imagination and sensations, allowing our state to continually change by dancing. We will explore movement and perception through the filter of language and imagination. Please bring a notebook and a pen.
Suggested Level: This class is open to anyone who is interested in movement research, with or without a background in dance, open to any level of experience.
